Abdur Rahman Adnan, the winner of the quiz competition, received the award from Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, the founder of Biswasahitya Kendra, eminent writer and TV presenter. Young writer Abdur Rahman Adnan was born in Lohagara village of Debiganj police station in Panchagarh district. He studied at Dinajpur Government College, in the last year of Honors. Abdullah Abu Sayeed was invited as the chief guest to address a literary event at Amena-Baki Residential Model School and College in Dinajpur. The event was organized by Principal Mizanur Rahman. A huge quiz competition was organized at the beginning of the program. Abdur Rahman Adnan won the prize in this competition. Shortly afterwards, Abdullah Abu Sayeed handed over the prize to Adnan. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Amjad Hossain, Library Incharge Mr. MM Iqbal Hossain and many others were present on the stage. Asked how he felt about receiving the award, Adnan said, ”there could be nothing more valuable than a book. I am very happy to receive the book award from Sayeed Sir. May everyone’s life be enlightened by the light of the book.”
It is to be noted that Abdur Rahman Adnan is regularly writing stories, poems and features in various national newspapers of Bangladesh including Prothom Alo, Jugantar, Samakal, Dainik Ittefaq and Nayadiganta. He is the editor of the quarterly literary magazine “Sorolipi”.
